Complete Idiot's Guide to Freemasonry
Even though one might take exception to the title selected for this book (part of a series of helpful books), I would rate it as being perhaps the very best of the all-around, general, factually-based informational books that has yet been written for the general public's enlightenment about the Masonic fraternity. It clearly and understandably conveys good, solid, reliable information about the Masonic Craft and its purposes in an engaging, factual and sequential way, and it does so without being overly-cute or "gimmicky" in any way. Moreover, the inclusion of great line drawings and photographs helps greatly in making the book more interesting to read over the course of multiple sittings. If one wants to recommend just one, reliable, informational book for a non-Mason to read to learn more about our fraternity, this title should be the one you mention. Brother Morris is a widely-traveled Mason and noted authority on many Masonic subjects, so one just cannot go wrong with this book!
